Fiebing's Leather Dye is a popular brand of leather dye used to color and restore leather items. Here is a guide on how to use Fiebing's Leather Dye:
  1. Choose the right color: Fiebing's Leather Dye comes in a variety of colors, so choose the color that best matches your leather item. It is important to note that the color will appear differently on different types of leather, so test the dye on a small, inconspicuous area first.
  2. Prepare the leather: Before applying the dye, clean the leather thoroughly with a leather cleaner and allow it to dry completely. Make sure to remove any dirt, oil, or other substances that may prevent the dye from adhering properly.
  3. Apply the dye: Shake the bottle of Fiebing's Leather Dye well before use. Using a sponge, brush, or cloth, apply the dye in even strokes, working in small sections. Be careful not to apply too much dye, as this can cause streaking or blotching. Allow the first coat to dry completely before applying a second coat if necessary.
  4. Seal the dye: Once the dye has dried completely, seal it with a leather finish or conditioner. This will help protect the leather and prevent the dye from rubbing off. Apply the leather finish or conditioner with a clean cloth, working in small sections, and allow it to dry completely before using the item.
  5. Clean up: Clean any tools or surfaces used to apply the dye with warm, soapy water.
It is important to note that Fiebing's Leather Dye is a permanent dye and cannot be removed once applied, so be sure to take care when applying it. Additionally, the dye may darken over time, so keep this in mind when choosing a color.

Traditionally the yellow paste was for use on saddles and tack, the white paste for use on shoes and boots.
