Approved accounts are allowed monthly credit terms and payment must be made before the end of the month following delivery. A settle discount of 3% on the Net value of the goods is allowed for payment within ten days from invoice date. This does not apply to sales of leather or to Credit Card Transactions. Late payment will result in loss of credit facilities and we reserve the right to charge interest at 2% above the current bank rate for the outstanding period and also recover costs of obtaining payment, including legal fees. Overseas accounts should be paid by cheque in Sterling drawn on a British bank, by Sterling Bank Transfer or approved Credit Card. Euro currency account holders may pay directly into our Euro account.
Payment is accepted on all accounts by Credit Card, but where the value is below £25 we reserve the right to apply a minimum order value of £15.00. Also any accounts older than 2 months and paid by credit card will carry a surcharge of 3%. In processing any credit card payment over the phone there will be times when it will be necessary for us to keep a record of your credit card details which we will do securely through our card processor adopting the Token System. In placing any order and providing your credit card details you consent to us keeping your credit card details.
Although every effort has been made to include manufacturers’ latest price increases, the prices shown cannot be guaranteed and goods will be invoiced at those ruling at the time of dispatch. We reserve the right to charge a minimum order value of £15
Carriage is charged on all consignments of less than £250 Nett value, and on all overseas consignments. For orders in excess of £250 Nett value to one address in the UK mainland, with the exception of some Highland areas, deliveries are carriage paid. Carriage on all Leather deliveries, bulk Liston Locks and Coach & Fridge orders is charged Nett, irrespective of total value. Partial carriage may also be charged on textiles over 1.4m wide, bulky or pallet loads, liquids and hazardous/flammable goods requiring special carriage arrangements irrespective of value.
Both we and the carriers must be notified in writing as follows:
Non Delivery of goods - within 10 days from date of invoice.
Damage or shortage - 3 days from date of receipt
Authorisation must be obtained before goods are returned for any reason. This particularly applies to leather, and where approval is not obtained the company reserve the right to charge a restocking fee of 15%. Return carriage will only be reimbursed where goods have been proved to be faulty or supplied incorrectly. Where possible, goods should be returned in the original packaging and small items must be securely packed. The company reserves the right to charge a fee where returned items have been damaged due to improper packaging. Please visit the Downloads section to download a returns form.
Value Added Tax is charged at the standard rate current at time of dispatch to all UK customers and to members of the European Union who do not provide a current VAT ID number. All other international orders will not have VAT charged on them, but import and any other local taxes are the responsibility of the customer.
The property in any goods sold or delivered by this company does not pass to the purchaser unless and until the full purchase price thereof is paid to us.
The acceptance of an order may be revoked (in whole or in part) or delivery dates postponed by us without liability in the event of any contingency beyond our control which does or in our opinion is likely to prevent, hinder, delay, interrupt or interfere with the fulfilment of the order or any part of it.
YOUR ATTENTION IS EXPRESSLY DRAWN TO THE CONTENT OF THIS TERM
LIABILITY FOR ALTERED OR MISUSED GOODS
The company shall not be liable for any direct, indirect or consequential loss howsoever occurring suffered by the buyer or any third party arising from the incorrect use of or modification to any goods purchased from the company.
All items should be used for their intended purpose without modification and buyers should test the goods prior to such intended use to satisfy themselves of the suitability for that purpose.
Failure to use goods for their intended purpose or modifying goods will void any warranty, whether express or implied by statute, and whether given by the company or by any manufacturer. In the event that the buyer wishes to use a product in a way not intended by the manufacturer, or has any doubts about the suitability of a product for a particular purpose, they should satisfy themselves as to the product’s suitability for that intended purpose prior to use.
In the case of leather dyes and treatments, whilst most dyes and treatments will provide the desired effect, some dyes and treatments may have adverse effects, and it is strongly recommended that the dye or treatment is tested on a small, non-visible area of the item prior to overall use of the product on any items. The company will not be responsible for any direct, indirect or consequential loss howsoever occurring suffered by the customer or any third party through failure to adequately test the dye or treatments prior to use, and it is the buyer’s responsibility to satisfy themselves as to any particular dye or treatment’s suitability.
The company does not exclude liability for death or personal injury arising from the correct use of any goods.
Abbey England reserves the right to change the specification and/or prices of any item listed on this web site without notice.
