CHAMPIONING BRITISH BITS

All our bits are made in the UK and individually checked for quality by our highly skilled Loriners.

The components for our Abbey England bits are manufactured from castings using the ‘lost wax’ technique. This produces a much finer detail and finish than traditionally sand-cast creations. Where more unusual or complex parts are required for a design, these are created or finished by hand in our workshops.

We only use the highest quality metals in the production of our bits, such as stainless steel, copper and sweet iron (cold rolled steel) sourced from the West Midlands, as well as rubber and plastics including vulcanite sourced from Manchester and Wales. These encourage a more relaxed, softer mouth for the horse, providing a more comfortable style of bit.
