LIVERPOOL REIN ATTACHMENTS
The Liverpool bit with its curb chain offers five different options for the reins attachment.
Starting at the top and working downwards, these are:Plain Cheek - no curb or leverage action.
Rough Cheek – fixed to the lower section of the bit ring just below the mouthpiece. Providing a minimal amount of leverage and engagement of the curb chain.
Middle Bar – the next step down
Bottom Bar – the lowest setting, providing the greatest amount of action downwards upon the poll, mouth and chin groove.
A bar may be fitted across the bottom of the cheeks to prevent the ends becoming caught in the harness.
HOW WE MEASURE OUR LIVERPOOL BITS
Please note, that we define the cheek of the Liverpool 2-Slot bit from the top to the bottom, as shown in the image. Standard cheeks are 6” long.
Our mouth width is the measurement of the mouth between the ring pieces and not the full length of the mouthpiece.Remember not to have too tight of a fit. You should always leave a little room on each side for comfort.
