BRITISH MADE BUCKLES

How to buy from us?

We are a belt buckles wholesaler, offering the highest quality solid brass buckles. If you are looking to buy from us, simply login to your account or register for a free account to place your order. As a belt buckle supplier, our buckles can be bought by the unit - ideal for those that need smaller quantities or looking to make prototypes.

Bulk buy belt buckles

Alternatively, if you already know your favourites, buckles can be bought in bulk. When you bulk buy belt buckles, you can receive a discount with a trade account (customers spending over £1000 per year). As a belt buckle supplier to the equestrian, fashion and film industry, we have a wide variety of styles to choose from.

How do we measure our buckles?

The sizes listed refer to the internal diameter of the buckle where the strap would sit.

What finishes do we offer?

Our belt buckles are available in a number of plating options. We offer nickel plated, nickel plated dull, nickel plated bright and antique finishes.

These special finishes are made to order and can take an extra 2 to 4 weeks to arrive.

How are our buckles made?

Our Walsall foundry uses the traditional sandcasting method to manufacture high quality solid brass belt buckles and fittings. This process uses sand to mould the buckles.
The first step in the process is to create the buckle pattern. Our pattern shop has hundreds of designs, which are reusable.

The pattern is then placed in the middle of a wooden box, made in two halves and filled with sand. The box is sandwiched together and the sand compressed on the top and on the bottom of the pattern. The pattern is removed and the two halves are put together to form the whole mould.

The next step is to pour the molten brass into the mould. This is a very skilled and delicate job. We use an oil fired furnace to heat the brass. Then, it is carefully poured into the mould and left to cool. After cooling, the moulds are broken open, revealing a rough buckle. For every buckle a new mould must be made each time.

The buckle will go through either the following processes barrelling, filing or polishing.

Finally, a range of finishes can be applied - either nickel plated, nickel plated dull, nickel plated bright or antique plated. The finished product is a beautifully handmade buckle.

Watch the process in our behind the scenes foundry video here.

We are one of the last brass foundries in the UK so our belt buckles will certainly make your products that little bit more special.
