Biothane is used for numerous products including pet products, such as dog collars and leads, to medical personnel protective equipment.

Is Biothane better than leather?

Is Biothane Odour-Resistant?

Yes, amongst other benefits, Biothane has the advantage of being odour-resistant meaning it is a fantastic material for creating rural, equestrian, medical and pet products!

What tools can I use with Biothane?

The following tools are some of our top suggestions:

For making oblong shapes and buckle turns, use our Abbey Crew punches. Hole size ranges from 6mm x 3mm to 25mm x 5mm. For making oval holes, use the Abbey Oval Punch, which is available in a number of sizes.

Alternatively, try our Osborne range of punches including oval, round and oblong punches. If you are looking for strap end cutters, try our Osborne 150 Strap End Punch Oval or, for a more arched shaped end, use the Osborne 0150 Strap End Punch Pointed.

For hitting the punches, we recommend using Plastic Mallet Cylindrical 8122 Thorex.
