Next up is Emma Dodd, her business is striving after just 18 months!!

I buy all my brass and stainless steel buckles, bridle hooks, Dee rings, 3 loop squares, and copper rivets from Abbey, as well as some of your tools. I’ve also bought a few hides from you and they have been very good quality and really good value! Everything I’ve bought has been fantastic quality and very reasonable in price.

My business (Sulana Leathercraft) started about 18 months ago after my eldest son bought me a voucher for a leather course as I wanted to learn how to saddle stitch and to make my horse a bridle. Being an Arab she just doesn’t fit into the usual sizes on offer!

 Whilst I made her a head collar and a couple of bridles, my business is mainly handbags, wallets, belts and dog collars.

 It is very part time as I work as a mental health nurse and the leatherwork is very relaxing for me after a stressful shift! Plus, it’s lovely to make things for people and make them happy!!

I prefer to buy UK made products as they are good quality and they have a much smaller carbon footprint than items purchased from abroad which is very important to me.
